‘HOAX, NOT REFORM’: ERICE ON CONTROVERSIAL ANTI-DYNASTY BILL
Rep. Edgar Erice dismissed the recently filed “anti-political dynasty” bill by Speaker Bodjie Dy and Majority Leader Sandro Marcos as a hoax.
He noted that the proposal, which would allegedly allow five or more family members to hold public office simultaneously at different levels, contradicts the intent of Section 2, Article 26 of the Constitution.
Erice called the measure a “pretentious compliance” and questioned whether the President was consulted on the proposal.
